Buttery, Flaky, Baked Fresh Daily

Meet the latest addition to our pastry menu. Made from scratch for us each morning by the pastry artists at Deluxe Bakery, these croissants are like some kind of fantasy bread you'd find on Marie-Antoinette's breakfast spread. And don't even get us started on the pain au chocolat they make for us.

Stumptown Bulk Bags

You've enjoyed a cup of our superb Stumptown coffee in the cafe. Only now your coffee at home doesn't seem to taste right? Not to fear, bulk bags of your favorite Stumptown beans are now available for purchase.

The Times Club is thrilled to announce starting April 8th we will be featuring Caymus Vineyards Napa Valley Zinfandel in our wine bar. Only a small amount of this exceptional wine is produced, and it's our great privilege to be the only US retail outlet to offer it, other than the Caymus Winery itself. It's also noteworthy to mention that grapes from none other than Prairie Lights co-owner Jane Mead's California vineyard are used in the making of this spectacular wine.

A view from Jane Mead's vineyard:

The yellow plants pictured here are mustard growing up around the grapevines. Mustard flowers go to seed in late winter when grapevines are dormant, and once they're plowed over the gasses from the blossoms then act as a pesticide, which allows Jane's grapes to be organically grown.

We got our espresso machine!

Today our espresso machine arrived from Seattle. It is a La Marzocco three group Linea that was manufactured in July 2009. It was also really heavy.

And look how shiny!

We are also super excited about our new chairs!

Next week, you will be able to sit in our chairs and check out your reflection while waiting for a great shot of Stumptown Hairbender espresso!

We Started Painting!

Since Monday, the cafe space in Prairie Lights has been unoccupied by its previous tenants, and we've been working very hard to get the space up and running for our new cafe! We've been painting since Monday (see above!) and will keep going tomorrow. Feel free to stop in and see us!

Stumptown Coffee was mentioned today in this New York Times article. We're going to be offering Stumptown coffee here in Iowa City! That right there is our very first bag of the stuff. Coming to you soon.
